Why do I need to login?

When you are on the ESF campus, the connections to subscription resources are automatic. If you are off campus, our subscription resources cannot tell who is or is not an ESF student, faculty or staff member. By logging into a system called EZproxy, your computer is recognized as part of the ESF network no matter where you are located. When you attempt to access a library resource, you will be prompted to log in with a username and password. This is typically your SU netID and the first nine (9) digits found on the front of your ESF ID card. This information is matched against the library patron database and those in authorized patron groups will be connected. Once connected, you will automatically be taken to the resource you were originally trying to access.
